The Mongolian language is spoken by about six million people today. The language can be divided into two dialects, Khalkha Mongolian and Southeastern Mongolian. Mongolian has about 2.3 million native speakers. Southeastern Mongolian, on the other hand, is found in part of the People’s Republic of China. Inner Mongolia, an autonomous region in the People’s Republic, has approximately 3.3 million native speakers. Mongolian interpreters must therefore be proficient in these two dialects. At Kroll Languages, you can find interpreters for Mongolian and the two dialects mentioned.
The Mongolian language presents challenges not only in interpreting. Written language, like spoken language, divides into two forms. The traditional Mongolian script is used in Inner Mongolia, whereas in Outer Mongolia, the traditional script was officially abolished in 1941. After a short period when the Latin alphabet was predominant, the Cyrillic alphabet has been used there since 1937. Our Mongolian interpreters face these challenges in interpreting and translating certificates, deeds, and other important documents.
The Mongolian language belongs to the Altaic language family, whose languages are spoken in countries of Southeastern Europe, Near and Central Asia, and Northern China. This language family includes, for example, Turkish, Kazakh, Uzbek, and Korean. In addition to interpreting in the main languages, German, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish, Kroll Languages has built up an extensive network of interpreters. Therefore, we can provide numerous interpreters to help you interpret Altaic and countless other languages. Based on this network, we support you with your business meetings and events.
